PL side would want more than £50M for 23yr old who scored in front of Tottenham scouts last month
Spurs could have to pay more than £50 million to get Morgan Gibbs-White. Spurs are interested in the defender from Nottingham Forest.
Morgan Gibbs-White was a great addition to Forest’s team. Since moving there from Wolves, he has scored eight goals and set up eleven others.
Without a doubt, Nottingham Forest is in the news because they were charged with breaking the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.
According to The Times, they plan to sell players during the January trade window instead of bringing in new ones.
The story does say, though, that the players who aren’t for sale are the ones who could bring in a lot of money. Nuno Espírito Santo would love to keep Morgan Gibbs-White. The 23-year-old is said to be worth more than £50 million by The Times.
One to maybe keep an eye on this summer
Spurs have already brought in two new players this month. They are clearly ready to go after their main targets, but they might not have the money to pay a huge fee for Gibbs-White.
You should keep an eye on that link as we head into the summer, though. Forest does look like they are in a fight to stay in the league this season. The former Wolves star may be interested in the chance to move up the table at the end of this season.
And after what Postecoglou has done with some Tottenham players this season, he would probably be tempted to follow Brennan Johnson’s lead and make the move if the right offer came in.
Even though Forest is in a tough spot right now, it’s clear that they don’t want to help anyone by signing their best players this month or in the summer.
