Spurs Youth on International Duty: Key Age Group Call-Ups

As the final international break of 2024 begins, Tottenham Hotspur’s young talents are stepping onto the international stage, gaining valuable experience and exposure. This period sees a mix of youth players representing England across various age groups, reflecting Spurs’ commitment to developing promising talent.

Archie Gray, who has played mainly in the Carabao Cup and Europa League for Spurs, joins Dane Scarlett—currently on loan at Oxford United—in the England U21 squad for friendlies against Spain and the Netherlands.

Gray’s involvement with the U21s comes at a crucial time, as consistent match experience will help maintain his sharpness for potential league appearances with Spurs in the near future.

The U21 squad faces Spain on Friday at 17:30 GMT and the Netherlands on Monday at 17:45 GMT, offering Gray a platform to further build his skills.

Meanwhile, Ashley Phillips and Will Lankshear have been called up to the England U20 squad, where they will compete in matches against Germany and Poland.

Phillips, who is on loan at Stoke City, has recently enjoyed consistent game time, starting Stoke’s last four matches.

Lankshear, on the other hand, scored a memorable senior goal against Galatasaray, marking a significant milestone in his career.

The U20 squad will face Germany in the U20 Elite League on Friday at 19:00 GMT before traveling to play Poland in a friendly next Tuesday at 16:00 GMT. With England currently leading the Elite League standings with 10 points from four games, the matchup with Germany, who are close behind with nine points from three games, will be a vital one.

In the U19s, Mikey Moore misses out on selection, likely due to an illness that kept him out of recent games against Galatasaray and Ipswich Town. Despite his absence, Moore remains a key figure among Spurs’ younger prospects. Callum Olusei has joined the England U18 squad, set to face Poland on Friday at 11:00 GMT.

Depending on the outcome, Olusei and his teammates will play either Germany or Belgium on Monday. Malachi Hardy, part of the England U17 squad, will participate in a double-header against Belgium, with games scheduled on Friday at 18:00 GMT and Monday at 11:00 GMT, both taking place abroad.
