Spurs receive prime target asking price
Crystal Palace will be looking to receive more than £70million to consider selling Eberechi Eze this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed Eze could be looking to play European football next season after putting in another superb campaign.
The England international signed a new contract with the Eagles last November to keep him at Selhurst Park until 2027.
Football Insider revealed on 11 May that Manchester City and Tottenham could make a move to sign the 25-year-old this summer.
O’Rourke suggested Palace will, however, be in a “strong” position should any negotiations take place due to the attacking midfielder’s contract situation in south London.
Crystal Palace could receive hefty fee to sell Eberechi Eze
Eze has put in a number of outstanding performances since arriving from QPR in 2020, leading to him earning international recognition under Gareth Southgate.
The attacker has now registered nine goals and laid on five assists for Oliver Glasner’s side this season after getting on the scoresheet in their 3-1 victory over Wolves on 11 May.
O’Rourke believes Eze would improve any of the top-six clubs if they were to try and strike a deal for him once the transfer window reopens.
Reports have suggested his contract doesn’t contain a “straightforward release clause” and any deal will be “complex”, with percentages due to himself, his former club and Palace.
Selhurst Park chiefs will be hoping Eze’s long-term future will be with the Croydon-based club, but they are expected to face a battle to keep hold of him this summer.
