Spurs receive huge boost as Ange Postecoglou favorite decides snub exit

The decision of assistant manager Chris Davies to stay with Tottenham Hotspur in spite of attention from Swansea City, who are searching for a new manager, has given the North London team a major boost.

following Michael Duff was fired by the Swans earlier this month following only 21 games of competitive play, the Welsh team is looking for a new manager and has its sights set on Davies.

Swansea was planning a second try to entice Davies back to the club, according to Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas, who reported on X earlier this week. Tottenham had already turned out an official offer from the Championship team.

Prior to accompanying Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool a year later, Davies served as an analyst for Swansea under Rodgers when the team gained promotion to the Premier League in 2011. He also worked for Reading, Celtic, and Leicester City.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Spurs, said earlier this month that he would not obstruct Davies’ possible exit, allowing his assistant complete discretion over his own future plans.

Postecoglou said to the Evening Standard, “We’ll concentrate on it since we have a busy week ahead of us. I had a quick talk with Chris about it.

“He is a remarkable person who has shown exceptional work with us and in the past. I don’t find it shocking that Swansea or other teams might consider him.

“I’ve always been laid back,” he continued. “I have previously said that developing employees is a component of my job, and I am really pleased of the fact that many of the people I have worked with are senior managers in their own right and are not here as my assistants.

It is possible to use it as a crutch or an explanation for anything if you are searching for things that may cause disruption. There is a disturbance since we lost half the team after one game and Harry Kane the day before the season began. This is something that never goes away.

“I have always felt that the environment will cover whatever challenges we have if we get it right. You can’t work in a vacuum where everything is perfect, so I have been relaxed in these kind of situations.”
