Spurs out-priced Leverkusen for £10m teenage who Xabi Alonso wants to join his invicible Bayer Leverkusen team

Tottenham have two games left in their season before they can really start ramping up their transfer plans for the summer and one new signing could be a talented youngster.

Ange Postecoglou is keen to improve his squad and Tottenham are expected to be busy, with incomings and outgoings aplenty on the agenda.

The main thing for Tottenham will be improving the first-team squad and adding depth and quality to a squad that has done fairly well in ‘Big Ange’s’ first season in charge.

But beyond the first-team, Spurs also need to look to the future as well.

And according to reports at the weekend, that train of thought could lead them to signing one of Everton’s most promising young player.

Tottenham among teams keen on signing Douglas Lukjanciks

According to a report from The Sun, Tottenham are one of a number of teams keen on signing 16-year-old Everton starlet Lukjanciks.

The teenager is still yet to finish school and like millions of others, is sitting his GCSE’s over the next few weeks before taking the next step in his career.

Lukjanciks is expected to sign schoolboy terms with Everton but it’s suggested here that he could well depart for a huge fee of around £10m.

Manchester City are believed to be favourites to land Lukjanciks. The £10m fee would go towards helping Everton with FFP, given it would all go towards the home-grown quota.

Tottenham, Aston Villa and French side Marseille are all also thought to be keen on the youngster.

Who is Douglas Lukjanciks?

Given his young age and the fact he’s not played any first-team football yet, there’s little in the way of in-depth information out there when it comes to Lukjanciks.

However, he has had attracted plenty of interest in the past, suggesting he is a top talent.

The Daily Mail has previously reported that Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen have also looked as the teenager. And given their brilliance this season, that’s quite the nod.

Tottenham, then, could well be getting a star of the future if they can come out on top in the race to sign the 16-year-old.
