Spurs making contact to sign a versatile striker valued at £75M
The Sunday Mirror (10/12; page 67) said that Tottenham Hotspur is thinking of making a spectacular bid for RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda.
After Openda’s incredible season at Lens the previous season, which ignited Ligue 1, Leipzig had to spend €38 million (£32.5 million) plus add-ons to get him this summer.
The adaptable attacker, who can play in any position among the front three, has made a strong impression at Red Bull Arena, having already scored 14 goals in 22 games across all competitions.
Three of the 23-year-old’s four goals in the Champions League this season have come against Manchester City, demonstrating his exceptional play in the league.
Spurs considering a move for Lois Openda
Only six months after moving to Leipzig, The Sunday Mirror now claims that Tottenham is contemplating bringing Openda to the Premier League due to his outstanding performances.
Manchester United is reportedly ‘huge fans’ of the Belgium international as well.
It is clarified, nevertheless, that Spurs may need to spend a club record amount to get Openda, as Leipzig may want as much as £75 million for him in the next month.

Since Openda is the kind of adaptable attacker who will flourish in Postecoglou’s system, he checks a lot of boxes for the Spurs.
The 23-year-old’s finest years are clearly ahead of him, so the Australian will also like his prospects of getting the most out of him. Leipzig, however, can be tough to work with and would probably ask for a huge price for the striker.
