Rave reviews: Spurs line up move for £60M menace who could be their answer to Havertz
The season finale at Tottenham was a fairly strange event. Fans not wanting their team to overcome Manchester City infuriated Ange Postecoglou, but in the end, Spurs might have qualified for the Champions League by beating the Citizens.
To the Londoners, it may have changed everything. Next season, they would have been a more alluring option to play for, and it would have brought the team a sizable salary.
Sadly, Postecoglou, Daniel Levy, and the others will have to operate on a little tighter budget during the summer transfer window.
Undoubtedly, the Australians will also need fresh recruits. Spurs will need a larger squad since they will be playing European football.
How thus to start? Maybe by a striker.
Spurs want to improve their attacking line.
Their shortlist of targets for the next window includes Porto attacker Evanilson, according to reports from GIVEMESPORT this weekend.
It comes after the club’s scouting department gave him high marks during the second half of the season, although Newcastle will be a rival for his services.
It’s been said that in the next weeks, it may take a £60 million deal to wrest the striker away from Portugal.
Given questions about Richarlison’s long-term future at Spurs, Evanilson would be a good stand-in for his fellow national.
Evanilson’s likeness to Kai Havertz
Having scored a spectacular header in Arsenal’s 3-2 victory against Spurs at the end of the season, Kai Havertz is unlikely to be seen too warmly at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Still, there’s little denying the German’s amazing 2024 centre-forward run of form. Under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, Havertz struggled at first but has become a revelation at the latter end of the season, scoring eight goals and recording seven assists in 18 games as a striker.

What, then, makes the former Chelsea player such a pain? Well, he works really hard, both in his own half and with his back-to-goal, and he prompts the press quite well.
Though he only has four career goals with his head, Evanilson excels in other areas.
Scout and analyst Antonio Mango called the Porto player a “menace,” while Fotmob said he is “considered as one of the better pressing forwards currently playing in Europe’s top leagues.”
Furthermore described as someone who “enjoys making a number of runs off the ball with the sole purpose of creating space for others around him,” it is easy to see why Havertz is compared.
This season, the German has been excellent with his run timing, giving freely of himself in the latter third to help his teammates. Statistically speaking, nevertheless, there are also similarities.

Havertz does lead the chosen stats above in almost every single one, but they both carry the ball almost equally and, crucially for a pushing forward, make about the same number of tackles.
The amount of duels Evanilson won this season in the Portuguese top division supports it even more. Not much behind Havertz’s total of 6.72 duels won per 90 minutes, he was in the top 8% of positionally comparable players in his league for % of duels won (52.3%).
You could possibly want to know the objectives. In that regard, the 24-year-old unquestionably outperforms Arsenal’s leading striker, having scored 24 goals in 41 games this year.
A strong work rate and goals would be guaranteed by this fantastic deal.
