Spurs in £6.8m deal of star player

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly open to selling Djed Spence in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old spent the second-half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Genoa, where he made 16 Serie A appearances.

The Red and Blues are very impressed with the English footballer’s performances and want to make his move permanent.

Spurs are willing to sell the right back if they receive an offer around £6.8 million, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Spence joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022 in a deal worth up to £20 million.

However, the move didn’t work out for him as he struggled for opportunities in North London, making only six appearances in the last two years.

After a temporary spell at Stade Rennais, the 23-year-old was sent to Leeds United on a season-long loan last summer.

However, the Whites cut short the move after playing only nine games and he ended up joining Genoa for the remainder of the campaign.

Now Spence could make a permanent switch to Stadio Luigi Ferraris if the two clubs secure an agreement in the coming weeks.

Spurs already have Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal on their books and so there is no place for the former Middlesbrough star in the team.

A permanent transfer would be ideal for him as he can hope to get regular minutes at Genoa.
