Spurs might now be focusing on one transfer target – reports
Dean Jones, a journalist, says that Tottenham Hotspur haven’t found a clear replacement for Conor Gallagher this month in case they can’t get the Chelsea star.
Spurs fans are thrilled with how the club has begun the transfer window. The Lilywhites have shown that they are serious about making moves.
When asked at a press meeting a few days ago if he thought the club would make any more moves this month, Ange Postecoglou was very vague. The Australian said that they would keep looking for chances (Football.London).
Reports over the last few days say that Tottenham is now interested in Gallagher. Some sources even say that the North London team is regularly in touch with Chelsea about a deal for the England international (Football Insider).
Right now, Tottenham is only interested in Gallagher.
Spurs are done adding to their back line for now, according to Jones, and their full attention is now on the 23-year-old Blues school product.
The reporter told GiveMeSport, “I know Tottenham still needs to improve their defense, but I don’t think they’ll sign another center-back this month unless it’s for the long term.” However, I believe we will be interested in another player of that type in the summer.
“I don’t think Spurs have another midfielder they want to sign if Gallagher doesn’t work out.” In that sense, I haven’t heard of anything specific yet.
“I think we will wait and see how this situation develops first, because Tottenham really think it would be great to get him if Chelsea made him available, and there is still a chance that Chelsea could sell right now.” The price of a fee would start at £45million.
In Our View:
We know for sure that Tottenham usually make a selection of two or three players for each position. If they can’t get their top goal, they move on to the next player on the list.
The fact that Spurs are still trying to get Gallagher shows that they think the deal can still go through.
