Spurs eyeing £50M “warrior” as 1st summer move, just imagine him alongside Son – opinion
The all-action midfielder would be an ideal complement to the South Korean.
Tottenham Hotspur appear ready for a busy summer after an intriguing Premier League season in which they narrowly missed out on the Champions League and advanced to the Europa League.
Ange Postecoglou has had a year to decide who he wants to maintain on his roster and who he wants to recruit.
According to recent sources, he is a huge admirer of a player who is expected to be the club’s first permanent signing of the window, and he might work well with Son Heung-min.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham continue to be interested in Chelsea’s standout midfielder, Conor Gallagher.
According to the source, club executives and Postecoglou are great supporters of the England international, and although the player would want to stay at Stamford Bridge, the Blues are willing to consider bids for their academy star.
The Athletic does not specify how much a prospective trade may cost the Lilywhites, but writer Ben Jacobs claims that £50 million should be plenty to gain the player’s signature.

It would be a costly move for Daniel Levy and Co. to sign him off, but given his performances this season, it would most likely be worthwhile, particularly if he ends up working perfectly with Son.
Why Gallagher will work beautifully with Son
There are various reasons why the childhood Chelsea supporter would be an excellent teammate for the Lilywhites skipper, one of the most crucial being work ethic.

Earlier this season, England manager Gareth Southgate praised Conor-Gallagher-Vinicius-Junior for his “tremendous drive” and “as good as anyone in the league” pressing abilities.
Similarly, in his BBC column, commentator Michael Brown characterised the 24-year-old as someone with a ‘unbelievable attitude’ who ‘covers a great lot of territory’, which might be an extremely helpful trait when playing alongside the soon-to-be 32-year-old Son.

The South Korean is still a terrific footballer, as proven by his 27 goals and assists this season, but as players age, their ability to run up and down the field gradually declines, and the former Bayer Leverkusen star is no exception.
He may be able to continue as usual for the next season or two, but it will ultimately make more sense to let the 122-cap international to remain forward and rely on a more active midfield to compensate for his diminished defensive contribution, which is exactly where the Chelsea player comes in.

However, although the Epsom-born “warrior,” as characterised by talent scout Jacek Kulig, is prepared to work hard for his club, he is more than an athlete. He scored seven goals and assisted nine times in 50 appearances this season, more than James Maddison and more than Giovani Lo Celso and Rodrigo Bentancur combined.
Finally, although it may not seem to be the most thrilling move, adding the highly industrious Gallagher to Postecoglou’s high-intensity style has the potential to boost the Lilywhites and enable Son to play to his strengths: scoring goals.
