The Brazilian, who is renowned for having just one goal for Spurs in the previous campaign, had a slow start to the current one as well.
He did, however, seem to have recovered his scoring form lately, scoring some crucial goals against Nottingham Forest and Newcastle.
Eamon Dunphy and John Giles have been talking about Richarlison’s recent comeback on his podcast, and they both agree that the attacker’s form has much improved.
Dunphy has changed because of Richarlison, and Giles gave their assessment of the assailant.
“He has instilled that composure and assurance in his players.” especially to Richarlison, who opened the scoring on Friday evening. We spent years watching this waste of space. Though he’s grumpy and Brazilian, he seems to be playing more freely these days. Do you believe the coach is to blame for that? Dunphy stated.
Giles said, “He was a complete bust at Everton and the same at Spurs, but they’ve made a big change with him. He’s scoring goals the way Spurs expected him to score goals.”
Seeing Richarlison perform like this is thrilling
Whatever Giles says, the Brazilian can still have an impact in these crucial matches since he was a very excellent player at Everton and has shown with Brazil.
Because football is a confidence game, Richarlison seems to have found his grin again after playing the last eighteen months with all the weight of the world on his shoulders.
We can only hope that the Brazilian will continue to look as good while wearing a Tottenham jersey, but who knows? After James Maddison returns from injury and Spurs’ offensive lineup is full again, maybe his form will even become better.
At Tottenham, Richarlison finally seems to be headed in the right direction.
