Sources: Big Harry Kane transfer update emerges tonight

Tottenham Hotspur are not expected to pursue a sensational reunion with Harry Kane, nor will Manchester United succeed in bringing the Bayern Munich striker back to the Premier League this summer.

Despite ongoing speculation, sources indicate that Kane is set to remain in Germany, where he has adapted well to life at Bayern Munich and remains focused on achieving silverware.

Spurs recently conducted business with the Bundesliga giants by securing Mathys Tel on an initial loan deal that includes a £45 million purchase option. Manager Ange Postecoglou continues to seek attacking reinforcements as he prepares for his third season in charge.

Meanwhile, Manchester United, under the leadership of Ruben Amorim, made key signings in the winter transfer window, including Patrick Dorgu, who arrived from Lecce for £30 million. However, both clubs appear destined to miss out on Kane, as Bayern Munich remain firm in their stance regarding his future.

During the January transfer window, Tottenham and United had the opportunity to activate a £67 million release clause in Kane’s contract, but neither club moved forward with an offer. That clause will reportedly drop to around £55 million in early 2026, but Kane’s commitment to Bayern complicates any potential negotiations.

He is settled both professionally and personally, enjoying success with the club as they dominate the Bundesliga and push for Champions League glory.

The England captain left Tottenham for Bayern in August 2023 in a high-profile £100 million transfer. While United have maintained long-term interest in him, Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford has not altered Bayern’s position.

Instead of replacing Kane, new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is exploring options to provide competition for the striker, rather than actively considering an immediate successor.

Kane’s Premier League legacy remains formidable. During his final season with Spurs in 2022/23, he averaged a goal every 114 minutes, underlining his exceptional consistency. Despite that, he is not in a rush to return to English football.

Although he remains open to a Premier League comeback later in his career, the financial and competitive aspects of his current situation make a transfer unlikely in the upcoming window.

Earning over £400,000 per week at Bayern, Kane enjoys a lucrative contract, making it challenging for Spurs or United to present an attractive financial package.

Bayern, while willing to include release clauses in deals, have no active plans to facilitate his departure, ensuring that he remains central to their plans next season.

Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a striker, but Postecoglou may look internally for solutions. Academy graduate Dane Scarlett has shown promise following his return from a loan spell at Oxford United, and Spurs could offer him more first-team opportunities instead of chasing an expensive marquee signing.

For now, Kane’s future appears firmly in Bavaria, leaving both Tottenham and Manchester United to explore alternative options as they aim to strengthen their attacking units.
