Tottenham U21 ace could solve Ange problem after what he did on Monday

After Rio Kyerematen’s outing for Spurs’ Under-21 team on Monday, April 15, Destiny Udogie may soon be watching Tottenham closely.

In his Premier League first season, Udogie has surprised everyone.

The Italy international has performed well as an inverted left-back in the Australian system, having adapted effectively to Ange Postecoglou’s demands.

Ben Davies isn’t quite able to play in the same manner as Udogie, so Postecoglou has struggled with that section of the pitch’s lack of depth.

But with the Tottenham Under-21s’ most recent triumph, it seems like Postecoglou could have a long-term fix for this issue.

Monday night at the Lamex Stadium, Spurs defeated Wolves’ Under-21 team 5-1 to reclaim the top spot in Premier League 2.

They now have three games left to go and just need four points to secure the top place, ahead of West Ham’s Under-21 team, who have played two games more than Spurs.

Jude Soonsup-Bell, Tyrell Ashcroft, and Will Lankshear all scored for Wayne Burnett’s team during their dominant performance, which also included Yago Santiago forcing an own goal.

Even though there was a lot of offensive skill on show, Kyerematen stood out the most.

The midfielder was excellent in an unusual role as an inverted left-back, which is comparable to Udogie’s position in the Spurs first team.

In his first appearance at left defense this season, the 18-year-old not only assisted on the goal but also scored one himself.

After 20 minutes, he sent a cross toward Soonsup-Bell, who volleyed it in, and in the 65th, he lofted a pass into the box that reached the upper left corner.

Rio Kyerematen was added to the Tottenham Under-21s roster on Monday.

Postecoglou may be eager to keep a closer check on Kyerematen after seeing him in first-team training lately. Kyerematen put up an excellent performance in a position that so few first-team players can play.
