‘Sit down with my agent’ – Midfielder comments on his future amid Tottenham links

Fulham midfielder, Andreas Pereira, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, has now hinted that he will explore a potential move away from Craven Cottage once the Copa America is over.

It has been widely reported that Tottenham are looking to strengthen in the middle of the park this summer and one of the names thought to be on the club’s wishlist is that of Pereira.

Tottenham have been linked with Andreas Pereira

Earlier this week, Globo Esporte explained that Ange Postecoglou’s men have set their sights on the 28-year-old, who could be allowed to leave Fulham this summer.

The report explained that the player had previously promised to Marco Silva that he would remain at the club for two years, which is why the West London club previously turned down all approaches for him.

However, it is alleged that Fulham are receptive to offers for the player this summer, with Spurs, Aston Villa and Newcastle said to have expressed an interest in the Brazil international.

Andreas Pereria will sit down with his agent soon

Pereira himself has now sent a major hint about his transfer desire, admitting that he will speak to his agent about his future after the end of Copa America.

When asked about the speculation over his future, the Fulham star said (via UOL): “It’s difficult to talk about the future now, I’m completely focused on the national team. After the title, God willing, I’ll think about my future at the club. I’ll sit down with my agent and decide my future.”

He made 44 appearances for Fulham across all competitions last season, scoring three goals and providing nine assists (transfermarkt).

Postecoglou has made it clear that he wants most of Tottenham’s business to be done early in the window.

I wonder if Pereira’s stance on not wanting to entertain any offers until the end of Copa America might persuade the Lilywhites to prioritise other midfielders instead.
