Baffling to me: Eric Dier simply can’t understand what he’s heard Daniel Levy said now
Recent comments made regarding Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy have prompted Eric Dier to respond.
Since taking over for Alan Sugar in 2001, Daniel Levy has been the chairman of Tottenham. Sugar is currently the long-serving head of the Premier League.
The entire time that Eric Dier was a Spur, he was under Levy’s tutelage, and their bond still appears strong now.
Even though Dier was apparently told he could quit the club last summer, it looks like no ill will has been spoken.
While appearing on The Overlap with Gary Neville, Dier was really rather eager to defend Levy.
Dier will now play Tottenham’s Champions League opponents Arsenal at Bayern Munich this evening.
The match is guaranteed to attract many Spurs fans who are rooting for Harry Kane and company to have an impact on Arsenal’s season.
Although Dier spent most of his interview discussing that tie, he was as eager to clarify Levy’s term.
While Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has taken a lot of heat recently for prioritising the club’s financial success over its on-field performance, Eric Dier lauds Levy’s work and feels he’s doing an excellent job.
Dier didn’t want to blame his former chairman, even though he appeared to acknowledge that the game might have gone better.
“From a business perspective, it’s baffling to me how people talk about the chairman, especially when it comes to how well he takes care of that club,” he stated.
Tottenham is never mentioned in discussions about Financial Fair Play, yet they have constructed a new stadium and training complex. In my opinion, they have the finest football infrastructure in the world, all thanks to him.
Since I was a long-term employee, we went through numerous regime changes, including the Pochettino period and subsequent managers, so naturally we may spend some Overlaps talking about the football side.
Naturally, Spurs supporters will be crossing their fingers that Ange Postecoglou’s tenure brings a return to a more harmonious equilibrium.
Spurs appear to be planning to spend heavily this summer, when they may try to find a suitable replacement for Harry Kane, due to their good financial situation.
Also, Eric Dier recently made a bold assertion on Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham training sessions.
