Journalist says Saudi Arabian clubs have shown concrete interest in Spurs star

Matt Law from The Telegraph has disclosed that Saudi Pro League clubs expressed a tangible interest in signing Richarlison last summer, and he hints that they could pursue the Brazilian again at the end of the season.

Ange Postecoglou has consistently supported Richarlison since his arrival at Hotspur Way, and the 26-year-old is now starting to justify the Australian manager’s trust by rediscovering his goal-scoring form over the past month.

With Son Heung-min away at the Asian Cup with South Korea, the former Everton forward has a significant responsibility on his shoulders in the coming weeks.

While there were suggestions a little over a month ago that Saudi clubs might target the Tottenham striker during the January transfer window, with a rumored valuation of £60 million, Law now deems a move in this window unlikely. However, he wouldn’t be surprised if Richarlison heads to the Middle East next summer.

Law shared insights on the Last Word is Spurs podcast, revealing past interest from Saudi Arabia and suggesting a potential move in the summer: “There was some concrete interest from Saudi Arabia. That has remained, and I can see at some point Richarlison moving to Saudi.

Now, had you asked me two months ago, I’d have said I could maybe see it for January. But the sort of story and narrative around Richy, as you say he’s scored a few goals, he seems in a better place personally, I’d now be pretty surprised.”

Despite the Saudi interest, Law highlights that a move in January appears unlikely, and he speculates that it could be revisited in the summer. He concludes, “It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Richarlison ended up in Saudi Arabia.”

The article notes that it’s too early to speculate on whether Tottenham would consider offloading Richarlison at the end of the season, emphasizing that the decision may hinge on the player’s form over the next six months.

Regardless, the expectation is for Tottenham to sign a top-quality center-forward next summer, irrespective of Richarlison’s status with the club.
