I’m hearing -Romano says Tottenham also want incredibly fast star alongside Nusa

Tottenham Hotspur wants to sign Ko Itakura, a defender for Borussia Monchengladbach, but Liverpool may also be interested.

Tottenham and Liverpool have both been interested in Itakura in the past, but his release option doesn’t go into effect until January.

Itakura is being sought after by Tottenham in the same way that manager Ange Postecoglou was interested in the player when he was at Celtic.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano gave GIVEMESPORT an exclusive report on their chase, indicating that they may have to compete with other teams to get him.

Even though Spurs signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January, Eric Dier also left the club to join Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Because of this, Ange Postecoglou and his staff may be looking for another center back, either this month or during the summer trade window. It’s possible that Spurs don’t need to add to their defense this winter, but planning ahead will help them a lot as they continue to grow.

Other teams want to sign Itakura, though, so Tottenham might need to move quickly to win the race. Liverpool is said to be one of the teams that is thinking about making a move, so the north London team might decide that they need to make a move in January to get their goal.

Postecoglou likes Itakura

In 2022, Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports told GIVEMESPORT that Celtic wanted to sign Itakura. At the time, Postecoglou was in charge of the Scottish Premiership team. Even though he wasn’t able to make a deal work, the Australian coach is still trying to work with the Japanese defender.

It is now known that Tottenham and Liverpool want to sign Itakura, who has a release clause in his deal. In the past few months, both Premier League teams have been interested in the back, but his release option doesn’t go into effect until January. The Japanese player, who is 26 years old, used to play for Manchester City in England, but he didn’t do well at the Etihad Stadium.

Michael Bridge, a writer for Sky Sports, told GIVEMESPORT that Spurs won’t say no to a move deal if the right one comes up. It might not seem important for the north London club to get another defender in January, but they don’t want to miss out on any goals if a player comes up for sale. As the Lilywhites try to get into the Champions League for next season, they may need to add quality to their team in order to stay competitive. This could also be very important if they want to finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Itakura has been called “incredibly fast,” and Romano says that Tottenham likes the player. Postecoglou is especially interested in the Bundesliga defense. The Italian writer also says that Liverpool is in the running, and he has hinted that they might be in a fight during the summer transfer window, when he can leave Real Madrid. In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, Romano said…

“They like the player, especially Ange Postecoglou.” Postecoglou always had the player on the list because, from what I heard, he knew him very well from when he was at Celtic. Also, Liverpool sent scouts after the boy more than once. I believe Tottenham and Liverpool may be interested in signing Itakura during the summer transfer window. From what I’ve heard, though, Borussia Monchengladbach really wants to sign a new deal with Itakura because the current one has a release option that only works in the summer, not in January. They want to raise his pay and change the value of the release clause.

Spurs want to sign a playmaker in January.
Tottenham is reportedly looking to add a “running midfielder” during the January transfer window. One of their top targets is Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher. Spurs might not have enough middle-fielders soon because Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s future is uncertain.

A writer from Italy named Romano told GIVEMESPORT that Tottenham is one of many teams in Europe keeping an eye on Atalanta player Ederson. The trade expert says it’s more possible that he’ll leave in the summer because the Serie A team won’t let him leave in the winter. Since Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are on foreign service right now, Postecoglou may be hoping that a deal can be made this month.
