Postecoglou explains why he had to take Cristian Romero off in Spurs vs Everton

Cristian Romero was taken off the pitch after halftime of the Everton game due to hamstring stiffness, according to Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham had a wild game against the Toffees this evening in North London. They looked quite careless before and after putting on a show for 20 minutes to jump out to a 2-0 lead.

After becoming the victim of an apparently harmless challenge in the opening moments of the game, Cristian Romero seemed uneasy and changed somewhat from that point forward.

Cristian Romero experienced hamstring strains

The Argentine did not come out of the tunnel for the second half, leaving Spurs supporters upset; Eric Dier took his place.

Thankfully, the former England international contributed to preserving Tottenham’s advantage and, despite a few nervous moments in the closing minutes, managed to hold onto all three points.

When asked about Romero’s removal, Football London’s Postecoglou said, “We had to take him off because he felt tightness in his hamstring just before half-time.”
