Postecoglou gives verdict on £27M star over game time issue since transfer
Amid limited game time for centre-back Radu Dragusin at Tottenham, manager Ange Postecoglou has affirmed the player’s importance to the club’s long-term plans.
Dragusin was brought in during the January transfer window from Genoa for a significant fee, reflecting Tottenham’s belief in his potential.
Despite his minimal involvement in Premier League matches thus far, Postecoglou has offered insight into Dragusin’s situation and commended his dedication in training.
Speaking ahead of Tottenham’s upcoming match against Wolves, Postecoglou acknowledged Dragusin’s previous regular playing time at Genoa but emphasized the challenges associated with transitioning to a bigger club.
He highlighted Dragusin’s willingness to adapt and work hard, recognizing the player’s understanding of the competitive environment at Tottenham.
While Dragusin may not have featured extensively since his arrival, Postecoglou reiterated the club’s long-term vision for the player.
With injuries affecting Tottenham’s defensive options earlier in the season, Dragusin’s presence provides valuable depth and ensures stability for the team’s future.
Despite currently favoring other centre-back pairings, such as Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, Postecoglou emphasized Dragusin’s readiness to contribute when called upon.
The manager praised Dragusin’s positive attitude, strong work ethic, and evident qualities in training, indicating his potential to become a key figure for Tottenham in the seasons to come.
As Tottenham aims to maintain their position in the Premier League’s top four, Dragusin’s development and integration into the squad remain integral components of the club’s strategy moving forward.
