Painful: Cristian Romero now sends message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after Fulham defeat
Cristian Romero, a defender for Tottenham Hotspur, sent a message to fans after their 3-0 loss to Fulham on Saturday night.
A week ago today, Tottenham fans were on cloud nine.
Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Aston Villa put them in a great situation to really push for a top-four finish in the last few weeks of the season.
Spurs, on the other hand, lost 3-0 at Fulham this weekend after a terrible performance.
Spurs never got going and gave up three easy goals at Craven Cottage, where they lost.
Romero sends a message to Tottenham Hotspur fans
Tottenham was not good enough in any way, and manager Ange Postecoglou has already said that.
Now, defender Cristian Romero has posted on Instagram how he feels about the loss in West London on Saturday.
The Argentinian is one of the real stars of this Tottenham team, and he sent a message to the fans.
As Fulham smashed the ball around, Romero said the effort was “disappointing and painful.”
Romero also said that Tottenham would work to come back better and thanked the fans for always cheering the team on, even when things were tough.
The star player for Tottenham believes that the team is “always together” and that the spirit of the game is still strong, even though it was tough.
Tottenham are still in a good spot, especially since Aston Villa could only draw 1-1 at West Ham United on Sunday.
However, Spurs can’t have many more games like this, and it will be up to leaders like Romero to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Fulham is playing very well right now, but the way they lost was the most worrying thing. Tottenham needs to play better when they return from the international break, or they will miss out on finishing in the top four.
