Despite Brennan Johnson’s early goal for Ange Postecoglou’s team, Kurt Zouma leveled the scores for the home side shortly after.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario faced scrutiny once again as West Ham seemed to target him from corners for the equalizing goal.

The London derby was characterized by its cagey and aggressive nature, with both teams giving their all.

Clear-cut chances were scarce for both sides, emphasizing the importance of keeping the best players on the pitch.

James Maddison started the game for Tottenham but, like in the previous match against Luton Town and in recent weeks, he was substituted off by his manager.

Despite being hailed as one of the Premier League’s best players before his injury, Maddison has struggled to complete 90 minutes of football lately, raising questions about the situation.

Jamie O’Hara described the situation involving Maddison as ‘strange’ and questioned Postecoglou’s decision-making, noting Maddison’s apparent dissatisfaction when being substituted.

“Maddison taken off again,” said O’Hara. “He didn’t look happy. He’s not one to throw his toys out of the pram, but he didn’t look the happiest getting taken off.”

Tottenham’s draw will be viewed as dropped points, particularly considering their ambition to secure Champions League qualification, with matches against the league’s top sides still to come.

Tottenham now sit two points behind Aston Villa, with both teams having played the same number of games.

Their fate may depend on the outcome of Unai Emery’s side’s trip to Manchester City on Wednesday night, as a victory for City could put destiny back in Tottenham’s hands in the race for Champions League football.
