‘No point’: Ange Postecoglou fires Spurs Players one last warning ahead of Sheffield as he vows to solve issues at Tottenham

Tottenham will travel to already relegated Sheffield United looking to secure fifth place in the league.

Tottenham have lost four of their last six games and will give up their position to Chelsea if they were to surprisingly lose to Sheffield United and Mauricio Pochettino’s won at home to Bournemouth.

This has been a difficult end to a season that started with eight wins from their first 10 games, and fans dreaming of a proper title challenge. But injuries, loss of form and bad timing has led to what is without doubt an underwhelming end to a campaign.

The 2-0 defeat to Manchester City last week led to Postecoglou saying the foundation of the club was fragile as he felt fans and some staff members preferred that they lost the game so Arsenal wouldn’t win the league.

Ahead of what is the final game at Bramall Lane this season, Postecoglou said he was committed to the Tottenham job and warned there was no point kidding around as there was work to be done to get the club back to challenging for big things.

He added: “I’ve been determined since day one, that hasn’t changed. I haven’t been deterred if that’s what people were worried about. Certainly not.

“I think when you accept a role you accept the challenge of that role, and nothing that’s happened in the last few weeks has changed my view of how we go about that. I also believe that you have to know where you’re at. No point kidding yourselves that you’re somewhere you’re not because then you can’t improve.”
