Daniel Levy to multi-million Tottenham windfall after Everton huge update

After Dele Alli resumed first-team training on Merseyside, Daniel Levy and Tottenham’s prospects of obtaining up to £10 million from Everton have improved, as reported by the Daily Mail.

On December 14, the newspaper reported that Alli had resumed his first-team training at the Finch Farm training facility, where he participated in a number of exercises and gym sessions.

As per the terms of the agreement reached between Tottenham and Everton, £10 million would be given to Spurs upon Alli’s 20 appearances for Everton. With the most recent fitness update, that milestone is getting closer.

Sean Dyche had previously said [Daily Mail, November 3] that Kevin Thelwell, Everton’s director of football, was in talks with Levy over potentially modifying that fee. Although no confirmation has been made, it is probable that an agreement will be struck given the terms of the arrangement.

The Times most recently revealed [on December 9] that Everton had rejected Tottenham’s offer to lower that price to £8 million in return for lowering the quantity of appearances needed to cross that threshold.

Now that he is participating in first-team training, Alli is just seven games away from reaching the £10 million mark, and a return to action would eventually bring that total closer.

Due to the lengthy injury layoff since his last competitive game, Dyche acknowledged that the midfielder still has a ways to go before he can be considered for the first team squad once again. Dyche also said the player would have a rehabilitation program to help him get back up to speed before his comeback.

This incentive, which is now valued at £10 million but is probably going to fall short of that amount, might be used to strengthen Ange Postecoglou’s team, which has already had some doubts raised about its depth this season.

Levy is getting closer to receiving the extra transfer windfall that was agreed upon in the Alli trade with every new event. Considering how long it has been since the midfield player left Spurs, he could have anticipated to profit from this one sooner, but he will still get it.
