Manager confirms he is set to lose striker to Tottenham transfer

Timo Werner, a Germany international, signed a loan agreement with Tottenham Hotspur in January from Bundesliga team RB Leipzig.

The German team’s manager, Marco Rose, has expressed his satisfaction with the former Chelsea attacker’s happiness at Tottenham.

In his seven Spurs outings, the 28-year-old Werner has scored a goal and provided two assists in each of the last two games. Compared to the first half of the season at Leipzig, when he did not get regular playing time, this is more.

Werner may make a permanent transfer to Tottenham

The Premier League team may choose to make the deal permanent, as Tottenham has the option to do.

Speaking with the media on Thursday, the manager said there hasn’t been any contact with the Tottenham player, as RTL cited.

“We don’t communicate, but I naturally keep tabs on his progress. He begins scoring once again as a consequence of his comfort and well-being. “He ought to continue riding the wave,” he murmured.

He is essentially one of our players, but Tottenham has the chance to sign him in full.

How Werner may be signed by Tottenham

A article in the BILD newspaper on Thursday said that Tottenham would have to make a decision by the middle of June about the exercise of a purchase option for Timo Werner, a player from Germany.

Spurs have until June 14 to make a choice, according BILD. If they decide to retain him, they would have to pay a transfer fee of €17 million ($18.6 million), according to DPA sources.

Werner decided to go back to England in order to get more playing time and a chance to re-join the national team for the Euro 2024 competition.

Werner was recruited by Chelsea for €53 million after serving as a player for Leipzig from 2016 to 2020. He returned to Leipzig in 2022 for a fee of €20 million.
