Man City open to selling star to Spurs as Ange eye transfer for former Liverpool flop

Liverpool is undergoing a period of major flux this summer. But there could be big changes at rival clubs too, with Manchester City reportedly open to sanctioning a major transfer departure.

The Reds, of course, have said goodbye to Jürgen Klopp, with Arne Slot set to arrive as his replacement. Meanwhile, Thiago Alcântara and Joël Matip are both leaving on free transfers, and we can expect to see some more ins and outs as the summer progresses.

It will be a big ask for Slot to take the fight to Manchester City, where Pep Guardiola will still be at the helm, aiming to make it five Premier League titles on the bounce. Arsenal will likely be in the mix again too.

Manchester City open to Ederson departure

A little over a week ago, The Telegraph reported that Saudi Arabia was keeping tabs on both Ederson and Alisson. The Pro League is not expected to go on quite such a lavish recruitment drive this summer, but is nonetheless targeting as many as 10 marquee names.

For its part, Liverpool will surely not be interested in losing Alisson, with the belief on Merseyside being that he is the very best goalkeeper in the world. However, Manchester City might be open to losing Ederson.

According to Fabrizio Romano, it will be left ‘up to the player’. He is ‘considering possibilities’, with interest from multiple Saudi clubs, although it would take a ‘good proposal’ to trigger a departure.
