£60M plus fee: Johan Lange plotting Tottenham move to sign sensational new forward for Ange

After what seems to be their first rough patch of play under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham Hotspur is still on track to contend for a top-four spot at the conclusion of the Premier League season. In the past game, the North London team easily defeated Nottingham Forest to extend their winning streak to five games in the top flight of England.

Resuming their preparations for the hectic holiday season, Spurs may focus on strengthening their roster when the January transfer window opens in a few weeks, with technical director Johan Lange and Postecoglou leading the charge. They have already seen the issues Spurs are facing due to their shallow roster and inability to find a replacement for Harry Kane—problems that he may now resolve next month.

News about Spurs transfers

Spurs’ Premier League undefeated start to the season came to an abrupt end in one terrible London derby against Chelsea. Their summer preparations were also rapidly ruined as James Maddison and Micky van de Ven both hobbled off with injuries. Significantly contributing to Spurs’ outstanding campaign opening, the Lilywhites’ wheels have been off subsequently. Postecoglou will want to stay out of that predicament in the future, and increasing firepower could be the costly way to do so.

Football Insider writer Pete O’Rourke claims that Spurs, and therefore Lange, are preparing to sign striker Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord, adding that they will probably have to spend more than £60 million for his services.

But rather than waiting until the January transfer window, the Dutch team is more likely to approve a trade in the summer, which could be a devastating blow for Spurs when the transfer market opens next month. Fulham, who sent scouts to see the attacker lately, may compete with the North London club if they decide to move on Gimenez as stated. But the cost and caliber of teams vying for Gimenez are thought to exclude the Cottagers from contention.

“Sensational” Gimenez may be the ideal Kane substitute

Even though Spurs have played well for most of the season, it is still debatable if they need to replace club record scorer Kane, who departed for Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window. Heung-min Postecoglou has benefited greatly from Son’s goal-scoring ability, since he has scored 10 goals in the Premier League. However, Spurs might advance if Gimenez provides further backing for the new captain.
