‘So underrated’: Kyle Walker says he was amazed by Tottenham teammate he only played 23 times with
Though the duo only played in 23 games together, Kyle Walker has selected the Tottenham Hotspur teammate that was among the greatest he has ever seen in his career.
Winning six Premier League medals with Manchester City and the Champions League in 2023, Kyle Walker has clearly had a remarkable career.
While he may also add some of those that have played with him for England, many would be expecting him to choose many Manchester City players when asked to select the best he has played with.
Walker, however, also belonged to the Tottenham team that under Mauricio Pochettino competed for the Premier League championship.
One Tottenham colleague, according to Kyle Walker, was “so underappreciated.”
The 34-year-old was asked on You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker to select the greatest he has performed; many clear choices came up: Gareth Bale, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne.
Walker was breaking into the team, hence there was also reference for someone approaching the conclusion of their Tottenham career.

“At Tottenham, Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, I have had a lot of fantastic play-through. Ledley King was, in my opinion, underappreciated because [Thierry] Henry said he was the finest player he has faced. You have to be doing something right, and for me he is a highly underappreciated talent.
“David was amazing; you would pass him poor and he made you seem fantastic. Among the Premier League’s greatest if not the best midfield players are those like Kevin. He’s one of these who doesn’t mind handing the ball away; hence, he will attempt a 40-yard throw and, should it fail, the usual response would be I’m not doing that again.
Not just one Manchester City player was in awe of Ledley King.
Transfermarkt claims that Walker and King only ever played 23 games together, therefore it is says everything the centre-back has managed to leave that big of an impact on Walker.
King most certainly still does not get the full recognition he deserves, but many of his colleagues seem more than eager to comment on how outstanding he was.
King never had the opportunity to fulfil his full potential and pursue the job his abilities qualified for.
He obviously have the ability to be among the best defenders the Premier League has seen.
