Journalist reveals truth Spurs fail in pursuit of 23yr old

According to journalist Paul Brown, Mauricio Pochettino values the midfield player too highly and believes Chelsea will not let go of Conor Gallagher in January.

Under Pochettino, Gallagher has become one of Chelsea’s most important players. However, with only 18 months remaining on his contract, it has been reported that the Blues are prepared to sell the midfielder in January (Daily Mail).

Charlie Eccleshare of The Athletic, who said last week that Spurs would attempt to finalize a deal for the youngster after failing to do so in the summer, and Chelsea are considering bids for their academy graduate, supported this.

A few days ago, TEAMtalk said that Ange Postecoglou’s team may sign the England international for about £40 million the following month, however it also mentioned that Man Utd and West Ham would make a move for the player.

In January, will Conor Gallagher really be sold?

As of right now, Brown has said that Pochetitno still has the last word when it comes to Chelsea’s transfer plans. For this reason, he does not anticipate the midfield player being moved without the Argentine’s consent.

The writer told GiveMeSport, in response to questions on the rumors surrounding Gallagher’s future, “I think it was always an upstairs decision to dangle Gallagher’s name out there.” He was reluctant to go. His departure is not desired by the management. The manager’s confidence in him is evident from the fact that he was handed the armband.

Additionally, Pochettino is certain that nothing will happen in the transfer market without his consent when we question him about his ambitions. Thus, Gallagher’s departure is difficult to discern.

“I believe it would be against his will if he were to be sold, for whatever reason. That would probably lead to issues with Pochettino. Thus, I’m certain that the manager is opposed to Gallagher leaving Chelsea.

Pochettino does not always have the last word when it comes to transfers in and out of Stamford Bridge; there are clearly choices made above him. All signs point to the West London club making money off of Gallagher next month, if their asking price is fulfilled.
