Insider: Tottenham ‘plan to accept Yves Bissouma offer’ – ‘I hear…’
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing to part ways with Yves Bissouma in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to former club scout Mick Brown.
The 28-year-old midfielder, who joined Spurs from Brighton in 2022, is no longer seen as a long-term fit for Ange Postecoglou’s plans. Brown, who has extensive experience in player recruitment from his time at Manchester United and Blackburn, revealed that Tottenham are actively working to identify a replacement for Bissouma as they aim to strengthen their squad after a disappointing season.
Bissouma’s future at Tottenham has been under scrutiny for some time. With just 12 months remaining on his current contract and no talks underway about an extension, the club is keen to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2026.
This summer represents their final opportunity to secure a fee for the Mali international, and sources suggest Spurs are open to offers. Bissouma has featured in 33 matches this season, starting 21 of them, but has found himself on the bench in four of the last five games, signaling a potential shift in his role under Postecoglou.

Brown, who remains well-connected within the football world, believes Bissouma’s inconsistent form has contributed to his diminished standing at Tottenham. “I’ve always thought he was a good player,” Brown told Football Insider.
“He could be a real asset to somebody, but his form has been really up and down at Tottenham. I’ve been surprised about how far his levels have dropped since he’s been there. That might be because there’s been a lot of disruption going on around him or because he’s being asked to do a job he’s not really suited to.”
The former scout also suggested that Bissouma’s strengths are better utilized in a deeper midfield role, where he can play with the game in front of him. However, this does not align with Postecoglou’s tactical approach, which has led to the midfielder falling out of favor.
“I don’t think he fits in with what Postecoglou is trying to do, and he’s not really going to be part of his plans in the long-term,” Brown added. “They’ve got other options he prefers in that position, and I hear they’re going to look to sign somebody too. So I think they’ll be open to offers for him when the window opens, and I can see him leaving the club.”
Tottenham’s scouting department is already working behind the scenes to identify a suitable replacement for Bissouma. The club is determined to bolster their midfield options as they look to rebuild and compete more effectively next season.
Bissouma’s potential departure is part of a broader overhaul, with several other players also linked with exits. Among them is Richarlison, who has been heavily tipped for a return to Everton.
Brown revealed that Everton are exploring the possibility of re-signing Richarlison, with manager David Moyes set to discuss the potential deal with his staff. The Brazilian forward, who left Everton for Tottenham in 2022, has struggled to consistently replicate his best form in North London.
While Richarlison is reportedly open to a return to Goodison Park, financial constraints could complicate any move. Everton face competition from Saudi Pro League clubs, who are also keen on securing the 27-year-old’s services.
As Tottenham prepare for a busy summer, the focus will be on reshaping the squad to better align with Postecoglou’s vision. Bissouma’s likely exit and the potential departure of Richarlison highlight the club’s commitment to making strategic changes.
For Spurs fans, the upcoming transfer window promises to be a pivotal moment in the club’s journey as they aim to bounce back from a challenging season and build a squad capable of competing at the highest level.
