Hammers Have Serious Interest in Spurs Misfit
West Ham are considering a move for former Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon on a free transfer, according to Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg. The columnist has excellent contacts at West Ham and is one of the more reliable sources of Hammers information.
West Ham are well-stocked at left-back with Emerson and the long-serving Aaron Cresswell, who recently signed a one-year deal to remain at The London Stadium.
Personally, I don’t see the need for another left-back given the lack of European football. That being said, I seem to remember the former Fulham player being a versatile attacker who could also operate on the left side of midfield.

Sessegnon, a free agent after being released by Spurs, is looking for a new club after a difficult spell with injuries. Fulham are interested in a reunion with the 24-year-old, and there has also been initial contact from the Hammers as well as some interest from Germany.
It has not been a hugely successful transfer for the player since his £30m move across London to Tottenham.
However, he is a player with considerable talent and has certainly had his moments at White Hart Lane, or whatever they’re currently calling it.

Steinberg does point out in his article that Sessegnon would satisfy the how grown quota but I was under the impression that was the one of the reasons for retaining Cresswell.
