Levy could bring Ange’s former star to Tottenham as super agent works hard on move

According to speculations, Ange Postecoglou might bring a former Tottenham Hotspur player back to the club during the 2024 summer transfer window.

Spurs transfer speculations
With the 2024 summer transfer window opening in England next week, Tottenham seem to be laying the foundation for some new arrivals in north London as they try to return to the Premier League top four, with the Lilywhites prioritising the top end of the field.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was asked late last month whether he wanted to boost Tottenham’s offence, to which he replied, “Yeah, absolutely.” It’s not a secret. You saw how we ended the season. We obviously lost Richy and Timo to injury, but we’re rather thin in that area.

“We began last season with Manor [Solomon] and [Ivan] Perisic, and we were really healthy in that front third in terms of numbers, but as the season progressed, it became clear that we needed to beef up. We’ll be in Europe next year, so there will be more games, and this is obviously an area of the park that we’ll need to improve.”

This has been followed by speculation that a number of offensive players may relocate to north London. Last week, it was reported that Spurs are poised to begin talks with Crystal Palace over the next two weeks about signing Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham are reportedly planning a personal terms package for Brentford’s Ivan Toney, with another story stating the north Londoners are willing to spend £40 million for the Bees striker. Youssef En-Nesyri, a Sevilla striker, has also surfaced as a possible Tottenham target.

The £191,000-per-week star might join Tottenham.

A new attacker has been linked with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jota, a former Celtic star, is now playing for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

Jota, who earns £191,000 per week, chose to leave Celtic for Saudi Arabia for about £25 million last summer, scoring five goals and assisting one in 25 appearances for his new side in all competitions.

In instance, in 45 appearances for Celtic under Postecoglou in 2022/23, the Portuguese scored 15 goals and assisted 12 times.

According to TEAMtalk, Jota has had a “unsettled year in Saudi Arabia,” which might explain his recent downturn in form. The story goes on to explain the winger’s troubles in Saudi Arabia, implying that Al-Ittihad may be willing to transfer him if the price is right.

However, if Transfermarkt’s current market valuation is any indication, the Saudi behemoth may not get a full return on their investment, with the Portuguese star valued at roughly £7 million, which is almost £18 million less than what they paid Celtic only one year ago.

In terms of teams interested in Jota, TEAMtalk reports that his agent, Jorge Mendes, is working hard to negotiate a deal for the winger, who is gaining Premier League attention. Tottenham and West Ham are specifically cited as being “very interested” in Jota last summer.

Given Spurs’ need for fresh legs up front and Ange Postecoglou’s prior experience with Jota at Celtic, it may be a good move for everyone concerned.
