Winger has played final match for Tottenham as long term concerns emerge
According to sources who spoke to Tottenham News, IVan Perisic will not play for Tottenham again since it will take him time to properly heal from his ACL injury.
Spurs News has learned from a source close to 34-year-old Croatian winger Ivan Perisic that he would need a very long time to heal from a catastrophic knee injury he sustained in September.
In the summer of 2022, Perisic signed a two-year contract with Tottenham, and he had the most assists of any player at the team with 12 in all competitions during his first season in North London.
The 34-year-old was reduced to a bit-part role once Ange Postecoglou joined the team, but he was still helpful off the bench, helping Spurs finish off wins in the early going of the Australian’s rule.
But his ACL injury has essentially sidelined him for the remainder of the campaign, and a close personal source of the former Inter Milan winger has informed Tottenham News that he faces a protracted fight to both heal from his injury and regain match fitness.
Tottenham will not be giving the 2018 World Cup winner a contract extension because of this plus the fact that he will be 35 in February. There are several questions about Perisic’s long-term health.
Ange Postecoglou’s team has been severely impacted by Tottenham’s injury issue in recent weeks.
As of right now, the injuries suffered by Rodrigo Bentancur, Brennan Johnson, Giovani Lo Celso, James Maddison, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, and Alfie Whiteman range in severity.
