Here we go – Fabrizio Romano says Spurs agree first January transfer deal
Hugo Lloris is reportedly close to joining LAFC in America, ending an 11-year relationship with Tottenham Hotspur, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Lloris, who failed to secure a move in the summer, has been a bit part player in North London so far this season, always there in training but invisible during games.
Since Lloris’ contract expires in the summer of 2024, it was obvious that he had already played his last game for the Spurs. Heung-min Son was given the captain’s armband at the beginning of the season.
But now that the January transfer window is open, it seems like the French World Cup champion has finally decided to go to secure regular first-team playing with LAFC in the Major League Soccer.
Agreed upon is Hugo Lloris joining LAFC
Lloris will join the American team permanently rather than on a six-month loan after Fabrizio Romano gave the transaction his “here we go” clearance. It is uncertain whether Tottenham will be compensated in any way for the move.
Lloris will agree to a one-year contract with LAFC, with the possibility of renewal for further seasons.
In Our View:
Hugo has our best wishes for the future from all of us at The Spurs Web. The one disappointing thing about his tenure in North London, despite being a modern-day Tottenham icon, is that he did not win the title he so well earned. Hugo, Hugo, Hugo.
