Fabrizio Romano claims another Spurs star is ready to agree a new contract

Following the announcement of Destiny Udogie’s new contract, Fabrizio Romano said that Tottenham was not finished extending contracts to players, and that Pape Matar Sarr was now prepared to start talks with the North London team.

Tottenham said on Tuesday that Udogie has signed a new long-term contract that would keep him with the team until 2030. The left-back was rewarded for his exceptional play this season with the signing of the contract.

The 21-year-old, who acknowledged that he has felt at home with the North London club from day one, underlined his happiness at the agreement in an interview with the club’s official website.

Football.London reported earlier this week that Sarr might be the next to get a new deal, saying the midfield player is “unlikely to be far behind” Udogie, who scored the team’s first goal in Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle United in North London over the weekend.

Pape Matar Sarr is expected to sign a new deal with the Spurs

Romano has now provided evidence to support that assertion, claiming that Tottenham is currently working on many new agreements since the Italian international signed a contract.

According to the journalist, Sarr’s performances this season have pleased the Lilywhites, and the Senegalese international is now “ready” to begin negotiations with the team.

In an interview with The Here We Go Podcast, Romano stated: “Yes, the new signing of Udogie is going to be in excess of €2 million net per season. This means a new salary and a longer contract until 2030. The club confirmed this on Monday, so everything is going to with Udogie.”

“Tottenham wants to continue extending contracts. A player they would also want to make an offer to is Pape Matar Sarr, a highly good midfield player who has been with the team for over two years and is now available to talk about a new contract.

Thus, there will be conversations with other players as well. For Udogie, the pay was crucial. Although the contract’s duration—2027—was excellent for Tottenham, they wanted to ensure that the pay was sufficient. In addition, other players will now talk about new contracts at Tottenham, where, in all honesty, nearly every player is delighted with Ange.

Given that Sarr, like Udogie before him, is on a relatively cheap contract and Spurs are aware that some of Europe’s top players may be interested in the 21-year-old midfielder, they are being wise to give their younger players bumper agreements.

When paired with the gifted young player, Bissouma’s performances are clearly superior to those of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg or Oliver Skipp. Matar Sarr has had a significant influence on the team.
