Exclusive: Tottenham to ready over £30M for Chelsea player who is free to leave Maresca’s side

Tottenham Hotspur are exploring options to strengthen their attacking lineup and have expressed interest in Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. The young English forward has shown flashes of brilliance under Enzo Maresca this season, scoring eight goals and registering four assists in 28 appearances.

However, despite his contributions, Chelsea have made it clear that he, along with Christopher Nkunku and Mykhaylo Mudryk, was playing for his future at the club.

With his role remaining inconsistent, the London side is now prepared to offload him, attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Spurs.

Chelsea’s frustration with Madueke has grown over time, and they are willing to sanction his departure in the summer. The former PSV Eindhoven talent has not entirely convinced the club’s hierarchy, leading them to consider parting ways with him.

Newcastle United previously engaged in discussions with Chelsea regarding a potential move, and their interest remains intact. Aston Villa have also been monitoring the situation, particularly as they weigh decisions on Leon Bailey’s future and the possible retention of loan players like Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford.

Tottenham, however, have maintained a long-standing appreciation for Madueke, dating back to his time before joining Chelsea, and could make a move as they assess their wide attacking options.

Enzo Maresca has publicly voiced concerns about Madueke’s performances, questioning his consistency on multiple occasions.

Even after a strong showing against Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the season, where the £30 million winger found the net, Maresca did not shy away from criticism. He pointed out that Madueke seemed to lose focus after scoring, emphasizing the need for improvement.

Following Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Wolves in January, the manager stated that while the winger had scored, he appeared to stop playing afterward.

He stressed the importance of maintaining intensity and ambition, urging players to push for more rather than settling after a goal.

Tottenham’s potential pursuit of Madueke could provide the 22-year-old with a fresh start under Ange Postecoglou, who values dynamic attacking play and could offer the winger a system better suited to his skill set.

Spurs are actively evaluating their attacking reinforcements, and Madueke’s dribbling ability and goal-scoring potential make him an intriguing option.

If negotiations progress, a move across London might offer him the consistency and development he has struggled to find at Chelsea.
