‘It won’t happen’: £35M ace will decide not join Tottenham if Eberechi Eze Signed first – journalist

Despite the excitement, Tottenham’s budget limitations mean they cannot sign every player they are linked with. Journalist Ben Jacobs, speaking on Playback, highlighted the critical transfer decisions facing Tottenham.
According to Jacobs, Spurs will likely have to choose between signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace and Desire Doue from Stade Rennais.
Jacobs revealed Tottenham’s interest in both players but suggested that signing both might be unrealistic. “Will it be one or both? I think it will be one. Tottenham and Eze is one to watch, and they are working on Desire Doue as well.
Part of it will depend on the fee for Desire Doue. With Eze, it’s a different story; it will be £60m. So if they get Eze, I don’t think they’ll get another. Without Champions League football, I don’t think they’ll go crazy with spending,” Jacobs explained.
Eberechi Eze has emerged as a standout option for Tottenham. The Crystal Palace midfielder, known for his flair and creativity, could add a new dimension to Spurs’ attack.
At £60m, Eze represents a significant investment, but one that could pay off by elevating Tottenham’s offensive play.
While the prospect of signing both Eze and Doue is enticing, it may be excessive. Tottenham already boasts an impressive array of attacking talent, including Heung-Min Son, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, and Dejan Kulusevski. Bringing in one new attacker, such as Eze, could provide the necessary boost without causing imbalance. Reassessing the situation in January would allow for additional adjustments if needed.
