Danny Murphy has offered a glowing prediction about Randal Kolo Muani’s future at Tottenham after the French forward’s mixed yet encouraging performance in the Champions League clash against FC Copenhagen.
Tottenham cruised to a dominant 4-0 win, with goals from Brennan Johnson, Wilson Odobert, Micky van de Ven, and Joao Palhinha ensuring a comfortable night for Thomas Frank’s side.
But for all the positives on display, much of the post-match discussion centered around Kolo Muani, who once again showed flashes of the talent that made him such an exciting signing.
Lining up as the central striker, Kolo Muani looked eager to make an impression and help Spurs bounce back following their frustrating defeat to Chelsea.
His energy, movement, and determination were clear from the start, as he played a key role in several attacking moves.
While he was unable to find the back of the net himself, the forward did register an assist and caused plenty of problems for the Copenhagen defence throughout the game.

However, the night wasn’t perfect for him. Kolo Muani missed a couple of good chances that could have made his personal stats look far more impressive.
Those wasted opportunities left some fans and pundits calling for more composure in front of goal, but others saw beyond the missed finishes and focused on the striker’s overall contribution and work rate.
Among those was former Liverpool and England midfielder Danny Murphy, who believes Kolo Muani is only just getting started.
Speaking on TalkSPORT Daily, Murphy said, “You’ll see a couple of poor misses from Kolo Muani and they don’t do his performance justice.
He could really be a player for Tottenham. I know they’ve got issues up front at the moment, but he’s getting fitter and stronger, and he was an absolute handful. He looks a decent player.”
Murphy’s words highlight what many Tottenham fans are beginning to feel that Kolo Muani’s impact goes far beyond goals and assists. His intelligent positioning, quick bursts of pace, and ability to drag defenders out of position have all added an extra dimension to the team’s attack.
As he continues to build rhythm and confidence after recovering from injury, there’s a growing belief that he could soon establish himself as one of the side’s most important attacking options.
Tottenham boss Thomas Frank also had plenty of praise for his striker after the win. The Danish manager acknowledged that Kolo Muani is still working his way back to full sharpness but believes he is developing exactly as planned.

“I think he’s just taking steps in the right direction and he’s getting more and more fit,” Frank said after the game. “I wouldn’t say he’s fully firing yet, but you can see he’s such a handful to play against.
The goal came from a ball in behind where he couldn’t quite control it, but he kept his composure, took it down nicely, and set up Wilson Odobert perfectly. He was through on goal two or three times and could have scored more. He was a real threat and probably should have scored with the header too.”
Frank’s comments underline just how highly he rates the 25-year-old forward, who joined Tottenham to bring pace, power, and versatility to their frontline.
Despite a few rusty moments, Kolo Muani’s confidence appears to be returning, and with his fitness improving each week, there’s a sense that a breakthrough performance is just around the corner.
With crucial fixtures against Manchester United and Arsenal coming up, the timing couldn’t be better for him to find form.
Tottenham will need their attacking players firing on all cylinders if they are to keep pace with the Premier League’s top contenders, and Kolo Muani could play a vital role in making that happen.
The Frenchman’s mix of flair, strength, and creativity gives Spurs something different in attack. If he can start converting more of his chances, his presence could transform Tottenham’s frontline.
As Murphy suggested, the signs are promising Kolo Muani looks like a player growing in confidence and ready to make a lasting impression in the Premier League.
For Tottenham fans, his journey may have started with a few missed opportunities, but the potential for something special is becoming clearer with every game.
