John Wenham has urged Daniel Levy to accept a loss on Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the club must be “realistic” about the type of fee they can attract for the Spaniard.

Reguilon is set to return to North London after a loan spell with Brentford.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims the club must do whatever it takes to get the defender off their books.

“Reguilon did well overall at Brentford,” Wenham said.

“I think there will be interest in him, but Tottenham need to be realistic.

At best you’re looking at getting £5million for him.

“It would be a huge loss for the club and Levy, but sometimes you just have to move players on.”

Spurs paid a fee worth up to £32million to sign the 27-year-old (via Sky Sports News, 19 September 2020).

And when you factor in the player’s wages, the club have certainly paid far more than £32million for Reguilon.

With just one year left on his deal, the club cannot afford to let the player leave for free next year.

As a result, Levy must accept whatever money he can get this summer.
