‘Yes’: £51m player has just confirmed he’ll be staying at Tottenham next season

A Tottenham Hotspur player has declared that he will not leave the club this summer.

Spurs have a large transfer window ahead of them. Ange Postecoglou is anticipated to make a few adjustments, including letting some of his players go.

One of them has even been linked with a transfer to Napoli, where former Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is expected to be unveiled as the next manager.

Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski responds to suggestions that he might join Antonio Conte at Napoli.

Dejan Kulusevski is one of Tottenham’s key players.

The Swede joined Spurs on loan from Juventus in January 2022. That transfer was made permanent 18 months later, and he has been a fan favorite since.

However, Kulusevski had a tough 2023/24 season

In 39 appearances, he only had eight goals and three assists, and Postecoglou remarked that Kulusevski’s season was ‘frustrating’.

Numerous reports have surfaced linking the attacker to a transfer away from Tottenham. It was also suggested that Napoli wanted to give Kulusevski to Conte this summer.

However, the 24-year-old, who Tottenham apparently values at £51 million (TuttoMercatoWeb), has no clue where such connections originated from and has reaffirmed that he will remain with Spurs next season.

When asked about the Napoli connections, he told Aftonbladet, “I know nothing about it. I’ve heard Conte is heading there. It will be great to have him there, and to see him back in football.”

When asked whether he’ll continue at Spurs, he said, “Yes, I think so.”

One final opportunity for Kulusevski.
The next 2024/25 season might make or break Kulusevski.

There is no denying that the Swede is an excellent player. He is versatile, quite efficient with the ball at his feet, and has the ability to improve even more.

However, Postecoglou prefers speed on the sides, which is why he has chosen Brennan Johnson. Timo Werner has also been kept for another year, which may limit Kulusevski’s playing time even further.

Despite a disappointing finish to the 2023/24 season, James Maddison is anticipated to start at number ten again.

Kulusevski has stated that he will continue, but if he does not perform well this season, he may be let go in 2025.
