I’m hearing from inside the club, he’s coming – Sky Sports man shares exciting inside update from Tottenham
Paul Robinson, a Sky Sports commentator and former Spurs goalkeeper, has revealed what is being said about their latest addition from inside the team.
The move of Lucas Bergvall, a potential midfield player, to Tottenham Hotspur was successfully completed on the last day of the January transfer window.
They acquired the Swedish sensation from Djurgardens IF, paying €10 million in transfer fees to secure his talents on a five-year deal.
In a dramatic move, Tottenham beat Barcelona to sign Bergvall, who chose the North London team over the reigning champions from Spain.
Robinson claims that Tottenham is excited about Bergvall’s coming and that they want him to challenge for a starting position in the first team right away the following season.
Robinson highlighted Bergvall’s ability to have an instant effect at the club while noting his caliber and the competition Spurs faced in order to get him.
In an interview with Tottenham News, Robinson revealed:
“The player seems to be a true talent, based on what I’ve heard.” We haven’t seen many of his games or learned a lot about him, but now that you’re aware that Tottenham has acquired him and have done some research, you know that Tottenham and Barcelona were vying for his signature.
“I’ve heard from people within the club that he will join the first team during preseason the following season. He is not a young player with promise who may be sent out on loan once again.
“He really is that good. From what I’ve heard, he’s expected to arrive for the preseason and make an immediate impact. He should be able to compete for a starting position and be a valuable member of the team.
At his age, he plays at a high level. Take a look at his background, the number of games he has played, and the general interest in Europe.
It’s a major coup for Tottenham to defeat the other clubs vying for him, and I believe he’ll be a terrific addition for the next campaign. The arrival of such a talented young player to the team is thrilling.
In Our View
He is clearly a great talent who might make the first team as early as next season, judging by the fact that he has already had everyone talking.
Bergvall might be Ange Postecoglou’s next project; he has a track record of developing promising young players into first-team stars.
