Paul Merson claims Postecoglou will now drop £25M Tottenham star vs Wolves
Paul Merson has identified the player he predicts will be excluded from the Tottenham Hotspur forward line during their upcoming match against Wolves, expressing confidence in Heung-min Son’s inclusion.
Tottenham received a significant boost in their previous match against Brighton with the return of Heung-min Son from international duty at the Asian Cup.
During the game, Son, the Tottenham captain, provided the assist for Brennan Johnson’s decisive goal in the 96th minute. Consequently, Paul Merson anticipates Son’s starting position in the upcoming match against Wolves.
Merson expressed his anticipation for an entertaining match with numerous goals and deliberated on who might be omitted from the front three to accommodate Son’s return.
He speculated that Dejan Kulusevski might be the one to step aside, with Timo Werner and Richarlison partnering with Son in the attack.
There are multiple options available for Ange Postecoglou, the Tottenham manager. Kulusevski’s recent performances have not been as impactful, with no goal or assist in the Premier League for two months. However, he contributes significantly to the team’s efforts with his hard work.
While some may argue that Werner has underperformed since joining Tottenham in January, Johnson is still waiting for his breakthrough moment.
Postecoglou has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal, and Merson suggests that he might explore alternative strategies.
Despite the various considerations, one certainty is Son’s necessity in the starting lineup for what could potentially be a challenging game against Gary O’Neil’s Wolves.
