Looking Forward – Centre back admits he is delighted about Tottenham interest

Radu Dragusin emphasized that he is still focused on doing well for Genoa this season, but acknowledging that it is nice to hear that teams like Tottenham Hotspur are paying attention to his performances.

With Genoa’s promotion, Dragusin made the smooth transition from Serie B to the first division; their 21-year-old center-back is arguably among the best in Italy this year.

The former Juventus player is among the defenders at the top of Tottenham’s January wishlist, according to many reports published by different publications over the last few weeks (The Athletic).

According to several sources (including TMW), Spurs “have an offer ready” for the Romanian international, who Genoa reportedly values at €30 million (£26 million).

Fabrizio Romano disclosed a few days ago that Johan Lange, Tottenham’s technical director, had just visited Italy to see the center-back in action.

Not only are Spurs said to be interested in the Genoa star, but Atalanta (Il Bianconero) is also believed to be keeping an eye on him.

In response to inquiries about rumors of interest from Tottenham and Genoa, Dragusin said to the Romanian website Sport.ro: “It’s a nice feeling to know that what you do, you do well, and other teams notice this.”

However, I don’t take this personally. My objective is to improve as much as I can at Genoa and have the best season possible.

If a deal for the Nice star proves difficult, I think Tottenham has identified Dragusin as their main replacement for Jean-Clair Todibo. Spurs should have little trouble closing the deal given the reasonable asking price for the 21-year-old.
