£198k/week extraordinary Brazilian winger is now being pushed towards Tottenham
Barcelona winger Raphinha has reportedly been presented as an option to Tottenham Hotspur during the ongoing January transfer window, as mentioned by journalist Dean Jones on GiveMeSport. Jones shed light on Tottenham’s current stance regarding the potential acquisition of Raphinha.
According to the information provided, there’s a push to bring Barcelona and Brazil international winger Raphinha to Tottenham Hotspur during this transfer window. However, despite this push, Tottenham appears uninterested in securing the former Leeds United player’s services for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
In my assessment, Tottenham might not find it necessary to pursue the signing of Raphinha from Barcelona in this transfer window. While acknowledging Raphinha’s talent, it seems that Spurs don’t currently prioritize acquiring a player of his profile.
Although there have been concerns about injuries, the notion of committing to a permanent contract for a 27-year-old winger earning £198,000 a week might not align with Tottenham’s immediate objectives.
Nevertheless, if Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, opts to make a substantial investment and potentially brings in Raphinha, even on a temporary basis, it could still be considered a reasonable acquisition.
Renowned as “extraordinary” by Barcelona’s head coach Xavi, Raphinha notably performed well during his time in the Premier League with Leeds United. During his stint at Leeds, he made 65 appearances, registering 17 goals and 12 assists in the Premier League.
This season at Barcelona, Raphinha has showcased his abilities by scoring three goals and providing five assists across 15 La Liga matches. Additionally, he contributed one assist in three UEFA Champions League matches.
