Ange Postecoglou will be furious about what £26m Tottenham player’s agent just said – opinion

Ange Postecoglou has sadly spent the most of the 2023/24 season defending his daring ideology at Tottenham.

The Australian’s courageous defensive line at Tottenham, which works high up the pitch, has been questioned by many analysts, with Sky Sports even producing a piece examining the style of play.

Postecoglou has admirably disregarded these criticisms, responding to reporters by stating, “Bring it on” to the sceptics.

According to Football London, the 58-year-old said, “I’m not going to change, so bring it on. It tests not just myself, but also the other players and the club. How serious are we about doing this? Look at all the great teams; they’ve all gone through the process and the bad times.”

Ange Postecoglou, a Greek-born coach, has been advised by a Tottenham player’s representation to adjust his setup, which will undoubtedly annoy him.

Radu Dragusin’s agent instructs Ange Postecoglou to modify things

Florin Manea, Radu Dragusin’s agent, hasn’t stopped talking since his client agreed to a £26 million transfer from Genoa to Tottenham in January.

The 43-year-old has revealed how much money he earned from the transfer, as well as what Tottenham officials have said about the Romania international’s training efforts.

However, Manea has obviously crossed the line by instructing Postecoglou on how to build up his defensive to accommodate Dragusin.

Calcio Napoli 24 quotes the Tottenham No.6’s agent as stating, “The coach has said many times that he does not want to play three (at the back).” He knows better, yet he allows a lot of goals for Tottenham (with their current style of play).

“Playing with three provides you greater security, and you won’t surrender as many goals. Tottenham allow a lot of goals from set pieces. I believe Dragusin will find a role in the future because Tottenham needs his strength.”

The Tottenham manager will definitely be unhappy.

Whether you believe Dragusin should start or not, Manea’s remarks are out of line.

If Postecoglou refuses to listen to seasoned commentators when it comes to changing his method – Jermaine Jenas is one notable media figure who has questioned the tactics – he will not like being told what to do by an agency.

Manea’s behaviour also seems selfish; it might be claimed that he only wants to see his client play so that he may assist improve Dragusin’s worth and earn more money in the future.

Finally, we have serious doubts that these statements were properly received at Hotspur Way.
