Ange Postecoglou says one Tottenham player crossed the line last season
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has commented on the incident that occurred last season between Richarlison and Brennan Johnson in the game against Nottingham Forest.
Richarlison, who had just joined the team, was a regular off the bench in the first games of the season when Spurs were managed by Antonio Conte. The most talked-about play of the game was what the Brazilian did against Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham’s fourth Premier League match of the previous season took place at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.
Spurs had a strong start to the season and were full of optimism. They were the favorites to win the match, and Harry Kane’s brace helped them do it.
The main topic of conversation, however, was what transpired when Richarlison entered the game as a replacement in the second half.
The Brazilian attempted to strut his stuff throughout the game by performing keepie-uppies. That naturally didn’t go down well, and Brennan Johnson—a Forest player at the time—crushed into him with a fierce challenge. Steve Cooper left the game in a rage.
Speaking on the event at hand, Ange Postecoglou supported Johnson’s actions and said that Richarlison went too far by becoming ostentatious.
According to Football London, he stated: “I think that even if you did what Richy did when he was younger, someone would give you a smack! That’s just a feature of football. Everyone is aware of the boundary.
Everything is well. We do not want to eliminate all of the game’s enjoyment. Each and every participant is aware that there is a boundary, and that if you go over it, someone will swiftly pull you back in.
“That’s what Brennan did with Richy.”
For Tottenham, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson must come up.
After the event last year, Richarlison and Brennan Johnson would have most likely despised one other, but they are now close friends and on the same side.
Both of the attackers are really talented. Although they haven’t quite mastered it yet, they have what it takes to consistently score goals for this Tottenham team.
But Richarlison is now injury-free, and Johnson has been getting better every week. They are both in much better places now and in the next months, they may truly blow up.
Tonight, Tottenham plays Nottingham Forest, and it will be fascinating to watch how the home crowd reacts to Richarlison and Johnson.
