Drastic change: What Ange Postecoglou has vowed to do to his Tottenham players ahead of Liverpool game
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, has promised to rebuild his team to play the style of football he wants to play. This comes after a rough start to the season for Tottenham.
The Lilywhites have once again given up under pressure, losing to Newcastle, Arsenal, and Chelsea. They are now in danger of missing out on Europe.
Unfortunately, the team’s losses have made people look more closely at the Australian manager. They are asking his style and how well he can adapt to one of the toughest games in the world, if not the hardest.
But before the game against Liverpool, he defended his ideas and promised to change his team and bring in players he thinks have the right attitude and skills to play his style.
In Enfield, where the club trains, he told media, “We need change.” Things need to change. When you change your path, you can’t expect the same people to be on it. It’s not going to happen.
“Yes, there have been two windows and some player development, but that’s what I mean when I say we still have a long way to go.”
It’s not possible to say that big changes are coming and expect everyone to go along with them. It’s not because they didn’t try. We’re just going to play, train, and think in a certain way.
“That’s not for everyone.” When you look back at Liverpool or Arsenal’s early years, the teams are hardly recognisable by the time they win a football league or other major achievement.
Postecoglou needs to fix things up at the back if they want to beat Liverpool at Anfield. In their last 25 games, they’ve only kept two clean sheets.
