Ange Postecoglou received a big boost when a £20 million target expressed interest in joining Tottenham.
Tottenham have already signed Timo Werner for another season, and sources suggest they are seeking to remove Bryan Gil off the payroll, with a return to Spain being discussed behind the scenes.
The Lilywhites will also consider bids for Brazilian attacker Richarlison, although club captain Son Hueng-min is expected to remain this season despite increasing interest from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
Four players were released this week, including long-serving Eric Dier, who transferred to Bayern Munich, and Ivan Perišić, who currently plays for Croatian top-division club Hajduk Split.
Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga are both connected with Premier League and Championship teams right immediately.
Joe Rodon, who excelled greatly at Leeds United this season, starting 42 of 43 league games for the Yorkshire club, has also been offered a one-year contract extension.
