Ange Postecoglou gives blunt five-word response to Rodrigo Bentancur kicking the Tottenham bench last night
Rodrigo Bentancur’s actions after being taken off has been judged by Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou.
On Tuesday night, the Aussie was not pleased.
Tottenham’s dreams of making it to the Champions League were dashed when they lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City.
After what happened in the second half, Bentancur was very angry.
Rodrigo Bentancur kicked the Tottenham bench, and Ange Postecoglou reacted.
Spurs’ Rodrigo Bentancur started the game on Tuesday night, and he almost made an effect right away.
Early in the game, the Uruguayan player found himself on the edge of the box and hit the ball hard with his left foot.
Ederson made a great save, which was too bad for him.
After that, Bentancur was warned for a careless challenge and had to be careful. Before Erling Haaland scored his first goal, the player didn’t do much to stop Phil Foden from crossing the ball.
We’re sure he felt terrible about what he did because it cost Tottenham the game.
Ange Postecoglou then took him off in the 55th minute and put Dejan Kulusevski in his place.
As he left, Bentancur was incredibly angry. He got angry and kicked the Tottenham bench, then threw his shin pad to the ground.
People asked Postecoglou about Bentancur’s actions after he was taken off in the second half. He was upset with the outcome.
The Australian replied with five direct words. He told Football London, “I didn’t notice.” Not interested.
There’s no doubt that Ange Postecoglou will make changes to his team this summer.
Even though Tottenham is a good team, they are still a long way from being a title contender in the Premier League. They’re not even ready for the Champions League yet.
The game against Manchester City on Tuesday night made it clear that Tottenham needs to get real help in the middle and in attack.
Roger Bentancur is a good player, but Spurs will need to get a better player than the Uruguayan and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg if they want to get to the next level.
Spurs’ attack also needs some help. They have some great players on their team, but they need players who will step up and score in big games in the final third.
They don’t have those kinds of players in their team right now, as shown by their loss to Manchester City.
