Michael Owen has been talking about Tottenham’s tactical lineup on Premier League Productions. He says he is particularly intrigued by the way Tottenham uses their full-backs, especially where Destiny Udogie is positioned.

In fact, Owen asserts that Udogie’s style of play is quite unusual and that he has never seen a full-back play like that.

Although full-backs have inverted and played as wingers in the past, Udogie virtually plays as a number 10, which is a really odd style of play.

It goes without saying that, as this season has shown, playing Udogie in this capacity is a huge hit, but that doesn’t change the reality that this is a whole new position.

Ange Postecoglou made a pledge to introduce new ideas to Tottenham, and it’s safe to say that his unconventional usage of full-backs has elevated Spurs to the status of one of the Premier League’s most fascinating and dynamic sides.

Undoubtedly, Udogie is an incredible player, and he could be the only one in the Premier League right now who can fill this kind of position.
