Doctor confirms fresh injury for Tottenham Midfield star unlikely to start v Palace
Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is unlikely to be included in the starting lineup for the upcoming match against Crystal Palace, according to insights from Dr. Rajpal Brar.
Dr. Brar, an expert in sports injuries, suggests that the Argentina international is currently lacking the necessary match fitness and is at risk of experiencing further setbacks.
Lo Celso, aged 27, recently made a brief return during the team’s 2-1 defeat against Wolves on February 17, where he played only five minutes after coming off the bench.
In an exclusive discussion with Tottenham News, Dr. Brar, who holds expertise in physical therapy and sports science, expressed his assessment of Lo Celso’s condition: “He is significantly lacking in match fitness and is therefore more vulnerable to re-injury. He is far from being fully recovered, and I anticipate he won’t be starting any matches until he has participated in a few practice games.”
Dr. Brar further emphasized the caution required by stating, “Having been sidelined for nearly six weeks due to a muscle injury, the club will take careful measures behind the scenes to prevent him from overexerting himself.”
Regarding Lo Celso’s future with Tottenham, despite scoring two goals and providing two assists in 11 league appearances this season, he has primarily been utilized as a substitute by manager Ange Postecoglou.
Returning to training in the second week of February, Lo Celso is still some distance away from reaching peak fitness levels.
With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, there may be speculation about his potential departure from the club.
If Tottenham decides to sell him, they could explore opportunities to capitalize on any interest from other clubs when the transfer window opens in June.
